Devotional | The Kingdom Is At Hand: You Are the Vessel

Jesus replied:

From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Matthew 4:17 (NKJV)

Jesus announced the Kingdom.

He didn’t announce a religion.

He didn’t announce a denomination.

He didn’t announce behavior modification.

He said, “The kingdom is at hand.”

The Kingdom means the dominion of the King.

That means wherever the King has dominion, that’s where His rule is active. That’s where His nature is revealed. That’s where His heart is expressed.

And you and I are earthly vessels that God wants to partner with to express Himself.

It doesn’t matter how amazing you are.

It doesn’t matter if you can sing.

It doesn’t matter if you can preach.

It doesn’t matter if you have a platform.

What matters is that you can be loved.

Because when you can be loved, you can be yielded.

And when you’re yielded, the King has dominion through you.

We’ve made Christianity about gifting. But Heaven made it about surrender.

Jesus didn’t say, “The gifted are at hand.”

He said, “The kingdom is at hand.”

That means you walk into a room and darkness should feel nervous. Not because of you — but because of WHO lives in you.

Sharing Jesus with people should be the most amazing thing ever because it’s the best encounter they don’t know they’re looking for!

Don’t slip into religion. Don’t slip into performance.

Because religion performs.

But relationship overflows.

You don’t need a microphone to release the Kingdom of Heaven.

You don’t need a title.

You don’t need permission from people.

You only need union with the Father.

That’s it.

When you know how loved you are, you don’t walk into rooms looking for validation. You walk in looking for someone to love.

That’s dominion.

Dominion isn’t control.

Dominion is influence rooted in love.

It’s being so secure in who your Father says you are that rejection doesn’t shrink you and praise doesn’t inflate you.

You are a vessel.

An earthly vessel.

Fragile? Maybe.

Imperfect? Sure.

But filled with the presence of God.

And when you know you’re filled, you stop striving.

You stop trying to manufacture moments.

You stop trying to make encounters happen.

You just stay yielded.

And yielded people are dangerous to darkness.

Because yielded people listen.

They answer when everyone else ignores.

They see interruptions as assignments.

They see the eternity people will be entering.

They don’t measure success by applause. They measure it by obedience.

The Kingdom is at hand means this: you don’t bring Jesus somewhere. He’s already there. But you might be the one who reveals Him.

Think about that.

You might be the one who reveals Him.

That telemarketer.

That cashier.

That coworker.

That family member who frustrates you.

You might be the encounter they’ve been waiting for.

Not because you’re impressive.

But because you’re surrendered.

The King wants dominion through love.

And love flows through yielded vessels.

If we ever turn this into performance, we lose it.

If we ever turn this into obligation, we lose it.

If we ever turn this into striving, we lose it.

But if we stay in first love — if we stay rooted and grounded in love — the Kingdom naturally expresses itself.

The sick get healed.

The hopeless get hope.

The suicidal find purpose.

The rejected feel seen.

Not because you tried hard. But because you stayed yielded.

The Kingdom is not hype.

It’s not volume.

It’s not stage presence.

It’s the nature of the King revealed through sons and daughters who know they are loved!

That’s you!!!

Not someday.

Not when you feel ready.

Now.

Challenge For Today:

Walk into every room aware that you carry the Kingdom of Heaven inside of you. Don’t strive. Don’t perform. Just stay yielded. Ask the Father, “Who can I love today?” And follow His lead.

Prayer:

Father, thank You that Your Kingdom is at hand. Teach me to live yielded. Strip away performance, striving, and insecurity. Let Your dominion flow through my life in love. Make me aware that I am a vessel You want to use. I say yes to surrender. In Jesus’ name, amen.

For the glory of God,

Todd White
