Devotional | Surrender, Freedom, and Healing

If you don’t know God, do you want to? One of the biggest things that stands in the way of a relationship with God is pride — the thought and lifestyle that says, “I can do this without Him.” Let me tell you: You cannot do this without Him. And, trust me, you don’t want to do life without Him. He loves you. He cares for you. He has great things in store for you. But…you have to surrender. 

Surrender is the best thing ever! Why? Because it’s the acknowledgement of the end of ourselves and the beginning of Him! HE is the prize. HE is the one worthy of our worship, our praise, our hearts, our lives.  

I invite you to pray this short prayer of surrender with me…

Father, we want to know You like never before. We believe your Son Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead. Forgive us and wash away our sins. We believe You are who You say You are: 

The Lord, the only Savior (Isaiah 43:10, 11)

The Everlasting God and Creator of the ends of the earth (Isaiah 40:28, 29)

Love defined (1 John 4:7-10)

Merciful and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness (Ex. 34:5, 6)

Good and loving (Titus 3:4)

The Word, full of grace and truth (John 1:14)

Faithful (Deuteronomy 7:9)

Light, in whom there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5)

Just (1 John 1:9)

Our righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Our Healer (Exodus 15:26) 

We surrender to you our wills, our minds, our emotions, our bodies, our spirits, our ways, our lives. Today, we deny ourselves. Today, we pick up our cross and follow You. 

Amen.

I truly believe the Father wants to fill you afresh with His Holy Spirit. He wants to take away depression and give you joy. He wants you to be filled with joy because you’re the child of the King of kings, and the Lord of lords. He’ll never turn away from you. I believe there are people reading this and God is taking the “worrier” out of you and putting the “warrior” in. I believe that, as you’ve surrendered your body to Him, He’s kicking sickness and disease to the curb. By His stripes, you are healed. In Jesus’ name, I command sickness and disease to leave. Body be healed!

I’m telling you, a bad report becomes a good report with Jesus. The diagnosis of a doctor turns into a healing that comes from the Lord. Thank God for your healing today — whether it’s physical or emotional — God wants to restore you. God wants to heal marriages. God is calling the prodigal son and daughter home. Believe it — not because I’m saying it, but because His Word says it’s true. 

God is moving. Get onboard with Him and live the victorious life He’s promised!

Challenge for Today:
You’ve believed for “the more” of God in your life today. Now, build someone else’s faith and pray for them. Even over text!
