how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebrews 9:14 (NKJV)
In the Old Covenant, the High Priest would go into the Holy of Holies to offer blood because God required blood to be sacrificed for sins. And when the offering took place, the sins of the people were covered, but not removed.
This is very important for you to grasp. In other words, there was still the consciousness of twistedness inside the soul of man because the sin couldn’t be removed. It was only an external cleansing. It cleansed you on the outside, and it made you acceptable to God for one more year until the Day of Atonement happened again. But inside your conscience, there was still the thought of what you wish you had never done. This is huge. Do you see the pattern here?
Now, through Christ, you have become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). You didn’t attain it. You became it. Jesus achieved it so you could become it.
Here is the truth: Jesus isn’t some kind of way. He is THE WAY. He isn’t some kind of truth. He is THE TRUTH. He isn’t some kind of life. He is THE LIFE. The Way of the Father, the Truth of the Father, and the Life of the Father personified on the earth.
Jesus lived a life that represented the fullness of who God was on the earth. It says in Colossians 1:15 (NKJV) that “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.” It says in Hebrews 1:3 (NASB), “And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high …”
When you seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, you’re seeking first your right relationship with God. You have been made right through the blood of Jesus, and the Holy Spirit reveals righteousness. Jesus said that the Holy Spirit is here to “... convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment: regarding sin, because they do not believe in Me and regarding righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you no longer are going to see Me; and regarding judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.” (John 16:8-11, NKJV).
Guys, this is straight from the Word of God. So don’t say the Word isn’t enough. Don’t say the blood isn’t enough. People live with a dirty conscience because they don’t have a revelation of the true forgiveness that God has given us all. We live with a lack of love because we don’t believe how much we’ve been forgiven. We live with rear-view-mirror Christianity because we think our past still exists when Jesus declared: IT IS FINISHED!
It’s time to live in the victory of the finished work of Jesus Christ. And it’s time to let everybody know about it.
Stop looking in the rear-view mirror.
Seriously—today, catch yourself every time your past tries to speak. Every time guilt, shame, or regret comes up, don’t entertain it for a second. Declare the truth out loud: “It is finished. I am the righteousness of God in Christ.”
Don’t just believe you’re forgiven—live like you’ve been made new—because you are new. Walk in it. Talk about it. Let your conscience be clean because Jesus didn’t just cover your sin—He removed it.
Father, I thank You that the blood of Jesus didn’t just cover my sin—it completely removed it. I thank You that I am not trying to become righteous—I’ve been made righteous through Christ. Teach me to live from that place of newness and right standing. Holy Spirit, reveal the truth of who I really am. Silence every lie from my past and every accusation that tries to keep me bound. I choose to believe Your Word over my feelings. I choose to walk in freedom, with a clean conscience, fully alive in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
In newness,
