Devotional | Healing Is the Will of God
“... by his wounds you were healed.”
1 peter 2:24 (Nasb)
God wants you healed — spirit, soul, and body. Healing is not a side topic. It’s not a theological debate. It’s part of the gospel. The same blood that forgave your sin paid for your healing. Jesus didn’t “halfway” save you. The word sozo in Scripture means saved, healed, delivered, protected, made whole. Salvation includes healing.
When sickness hits the body of a believer, it’s trespassing — it doesn’t belong there. Your body is now the temple of the Holy Spirit. You were bought with a price. Jesus made a covenant with the Father in His own blood — and you entered that covenant by faith. You didn’t earn it, and you can’t break it. God sealed it with the blood of His Son.
The enemy wants you to believe healing is a “maybe,” a “sometimes,” or “only if it’s God’s will.” But Jesus already revealed God’s will — He healed everywhere He went. He didn’t make people sick to teach them lessons. He destroyed the works of the devil. Sickness is not from God. It’s oppression. Acts 10:38 says Jesus healed all who were oppressed by the devil. Not “some” — all.
God is not teaching you through pain — He teaches through His Word and Spirit. The enemy wants to depress you, torment you, break you down — but the blood of Jesus declares freedom, strength, and wholeness over your life.
You have been given authority. Jesus said you will lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. Not might, shall. Healing is not based on your feelings, emotions, or spiritual performance. It’s based on the finished work of Jesus. (Mark 16:17-18)
Prayer
Jesus, thank You that healing is Your will because healing is in Your blood. Strengthen my faith to stand against sickness and every lie of the enemy. I receive Your healing in my life and I will step out to pray for others with boldness. Amen.
Challenge for Today
Pray for someone who needs healing today — and don’t pray timid prayers. Command sickness to leave in Jesus’ name. Lay hands on the sick and believe—they shall recover.
Believing with you,
Todd White
