And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

EPHESIANS 5:11 (NKJV)

The gospel doesn’t call us to try harder — it calls us to die better.

When you became a Christian, you didn’t sign up to be comfortable. You didn’t sign up to just sit in church and coast through life. You signed up to die.

That’s not harsh, but it is sobering. The old you is dead. That’s AMAZING news. To accept Jesus and His finished work on the Cross is to say, “I am giving my life to Jesus. I have been crucified with Christ. The life I live, I live by faith in the One who so generously gave Himself for me.”

I am His, and whatever He wants to do with my life is up to Him. I gratefully say “yes” to His plans and purposes — they’re so much better than what I could ever come up with.

This is what I want to do: I want to burn for Him. I want to bring Him glory. I want my words to bring Him glory. I want my actions to align with what He would have me do.

This isn’t “Halfway Christianity.” This isn’t one foot in, one foot out. This is the gospel: absolute surrender. Total death to self. We weren’t called to sprinkle a little Jesus on top of a worldly life. We were called to lose our life for His sake — so we could finally find true life in Him.

You don’t belong to yourself anymore. You were bought with the beautiful blood of Jesus, shed on your behalf. Surrender isn’t easy, but it’s absolutely necessary if you’re a disciple of Jesus Christ. Now is the time to step into who God created you to be — a son, a daughter. Now is the time to walk like Jesus says you can!

🟡 Challenge for Today:
Say it out loud: “I signed up to die.” Then ask the Holy Spirit, “Where am I still holding onto control?” Today, lay down one comfort or compromise that’s kept you from full surrender. Die to it — and live unto Him.

God’s got you,
