Devotional | Crushing Unbelief
“If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
Mark 9:23 (NKJV)
One of the biggest enemies of faith in the Church is unbelief. Religion has taught people to doubt more than they believe. People say things like, “Well, Jesus couldn’t even do miracles in His hometown because of their unbelief, so what chance do I have?” But that’s not what really happened…
When Jesus went to Nazareth in Matthew 13, the people didn’t bring anyone to Him to be healed — they rejected Him. They questioned Him, saying, “Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” They dismissed Him — and because they didn’t bring people to Him — He couldn’t do mighty works there. Not because unbelief is stronger than faith, but because they refused to come to Him. Yet, even then, the Bible says He still healed a few people on His way out. Why? Because unbelief cannot limit Jesus — and if it can’t limit Him, it doesn’t have to limit you.
I’ve walked into hospital rooms full of unbelief — family members who didn’t believe in healing, doctors giving death sentences, people hostile toward miracles. But if you let unbelief intimidate you, it will silence you. You are only limited by the unbelief you let inside.
Greater is He who lives in you than anything around you. (1 John 4:4) You’re not a thermometer, reacting to the spiritual temperature of the room — you’re a thermostat. You set the level of faith wherever you go. You carry the presence of God, and you are never outnumbered. You plus Jesus are a majority every time.
Don’t let someone else’s doubt or unbelief become your ceiling. Don’t let their theology stop your obedience. Don’t let their fear silence your authority in Christ. Crush unbelief and enforce victory.
Prayer
Father, I refuse to let unbelief control my life. Strengthen my faith and make me bold. Help me to keep my eyes on You — not on circumstances, opinions, or opposition. I choose to believe Your Word above everything else. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Challenge for Today
Pray for someone in a place where unbelief is present — a family setting, workplace, or store. Let your faith speak louder than the room.
In Faith,
